I am extremely self conscious and so like to take things slow but my boyfriend just doesn't understand this. I'm his first girlfriend and i've tried my best, everything I can think of, to try to make him help me, just to understand how I feel but it's useless. I don't want to give up, but i'm starting to fall for my best friend... I know this would be taking the easy option out but although my boyfriend says he loves me, he doesn't seem to be showing it. Please help.

If you know for sure that he doesn't understand your feelings and isn't willing to make a change, then he's not right for you. You need someone who really gives in the relationship, and if he really wnated to make it work then he would have tried to change for you. Maybe give it some time with your best friend; sometimes dating your best friend can end in disaster, and it would hurt your boyfriend to see that you have moved on that fast.
