That he wanted to marry me so my question is this... When someone is drinking heavily such as my dear boyfriend this night do people really mean what they say if you are having a completely serious conversation. Reply to this Question Share |

It may be the truth, but never take what a person says under the influence seriously.
Watch a persons actions if you want to know the truth behind mere words.

Yes they can mean it, but don't rely on it. When drunk we can express our deep unconscious hopes and dreams, but the next day we can forget the whole conversation, or be more realistic about it. Also people change, so although in the heat of the moment he really, genuinly meant what he said, you don't know what will happen between you two 12 months down the line.
Marriage is a serious commitment, which shouldn't be decided on a drunken conversation. But, it's nice that he wanted to say that to you, even if he can't remember the conversation the next day. Take what he said with a pinch of salt. He might really mean it, but only time will tell. There's no rush afterall, you are young.

Why would you have a deep conversation with your man if he'd been drinking a lot? :^) Well they say a drunk person speaks a sober mind. Maybe he was telling you how he truly felt. Only time will tell.
