Well what is he like in other areas of his life, is he generally a forgetful person or maybe does things on the spur of the moment? Is this a recent change in behaviour for him?
I wouldn't worry too much unless he seems deliberately evasive and the only times he doesn't tell you what he's doing is when he's going out at night or to a party.
If he doesn't even tell you when he's meeting up with family then it's probably because he just doesn't think.
