Once you've done that the best, most efficient way is a combination of weights/resistance, cardio and flexibility training. All of which can be done at home for little or no cost.
Eating a healthy balanced diet will help too but you don't have to be too strict about it as long as you make sure you eat a nice amount of good quality food to compensate for the extra workload and to ensure your body is getting enough food in order to continue growth.
shortyX3 forget all these stupid healthy diets you see women doing, you know eating only nuts and lentils, salads and all that low-fat crap. By all means add those to your diet but you're not a bird, you're a growing man. You need a good bit of protein in your diet, contrary to what you hear you do need fat in your diet too so ignore those low-fat versions of foods, all they are is tasteless crap that costs more and has less natural nutrients because it undergoes extra processing. Let me make it clear though, foods that are naturally low in fat are a good choice, chicken etc, what I'm saying not to get is things labeled 'low-fat'.
Another thing forget weight, you're a growing teenager, weight is an incredibly inaccurate measurement of fitness as it is for adults, but as you're still developing it's even less accurate. The best gauge of fitness for you is what your eye sees and how your body feels. Seriously when you step on those scales after a month of working out your just going to be disappointed like most people are when they do that because it's a bullshit measurement. Muscle weighs three times as much as fat and your body will build a bit muscle if you workout right. Again you're a man, when we workout we don't get skinny we build muscle, only long distance runners become skinny and they look a bit weird.
You need to stop thinking like a woman, if you want to get toned then you the above three types of exercise, don't worry about building huge muscle, you have to do very heavy lifting for that kind of thing, do not do heavy lifting. There is this misconception that doing weights at your age stunts growth, it doesn't but lifting very heavy weights increases that risk.
Lastly google weightless workouts, or throw that search term into youtube, search for flexibility training videos and buy yourself a skipping rope (jump rope) that is the best cardio that you can do.
Now if you're lazy as hell and you don't want to bother doing all that, then just buy the rope and do half an hour to an hour of that every second day. 10 mins of jumping rope burns the same amount of calories as 30 mins jogging. Jogging is actually quite useless because our bodies are way to efficient at it and can do so without expending that much energy. Again just go youtube and find videos on how to jump rope. Before doing that though go to your doctor, always go to your doctor if you decide to make any kind of drastic change to your body.
Then just live a healthy lifestyle, stairs instead of elevator, walk instead of driving etc.

First of all: don't concentrate on the weight numbers, concentrate on what you see in the mirror and how your clothes fit. Fixation on weight could land you in eating disorder land and that's not where you want to be (trust me I know, I was there at 17.)
Anyway, what I do to stay slim and keep healthy without having it interfere with my daily life too much is to simply make healthy choices.
#1. Eat 3 times a day (some say 5 is best for your metabolism, but I get snack cravings from that)
#2. Add protein and more veggies in your meals. So for example, if the bulk of your meal consists of white carbs (rice, pasta, bread, potatoes, etc.) tone that down a bit and compensate with protein from for example fish, chicken, lean meats and eggs. Eat more veggies and more fruits.
#3. Be sensible, don't restrict. Restrictive eating habits simply won't last. So if you want to eat at McDonalds, do so, just don't make a weekly habit out of it. Eat less gravy and replace calorieladen sauces and dressings with healthier ones. Same with cooking. I used to make curry with coconut milk and now I use a recipe with low fat yoghurt. Those kinds of adjustments really make a difference in the long run. Just don't concentrate too much on it. This makes it easier for your parents as well, if they're the ones doing the cooking.
#4. Keep a cheat day where you can eat whatever you want prepared the way you want. Just one rule: keep the servings in check. No binge eating.
#5. I used to drink a lot of starbucks coffee, sodas, chocolate milk, etc. Right now I drink mostly tea or water and when I feel like it I'll have black coffee. You don't have to be as rigorous as I did it, but simply cutting the diet soda's and such out of your daily routine, you're already making a big change.
#5. Excercise: here's a great link with free workouts. Most of them can be done using only your own bodyweight. They're short but intense, so when you do them, make it count. That's how you're going to get results.

The above website also offers advice on food and recipe's.
Lastly, don't focus on weight loss, but FAT loss. Through the healthier eating and workouts you'll probably lose fat and gain muscle, which gives you a more fit, streamlined look. So though your pants will get looser and your tummy will gat flatter, you might not notice a change on the scale. Don't worry you won't become overly muscular unless you start training with that goal in mind, like one does through heavy weight training.
Good luck and if you need more help, PM me!

reader, anonymous, writes (17 July 2011): You are too young to lose weight if you're not overweight. You're still growing and it could be dangerous to diet. The only way to successfully lose weight is to do aerobic exercise while cutting or maintaining calorie intake which is what you need for your age, height and frame. You must expend more energy than calories you take in. If you are average weight for your height and age you do not need to lose weight to be healthy. Follow a diet that has low intake of unrefined sugars and caffeine. Drink lots of filtered water(10-12 glasses per day) and eat lower fat foods(fried foods are bad such as fast foods) whole grain carbohydrates, olive and fish oils and plenty of fresh organic vegetables and fruits which are high in anti oxidants(make sure you wash them thoroughly to remove pesticides). Fried foods, cooked fats and sugars are bad for you for many reasons so eat them in moderation. Take care.
