A female United Kingdom age 41-50, anonymous writes:

Me and my boyfriend split up in August last year. Stayed in constant contact and recently got back together. I have just been diagnosed with low self-esteem, lack of confidence and having a feeling of 2nd best when an old friend of mine - Michelle - is around. He liked her a few years ago before we got together.

I told him, what has been said to me and he said he's willing to help. But he's not the sort of bloke to do it in obvious ways. Lastnight was a mates 21st and we were meant to meet for a drink - she didn't get in contact with me which upset me. I left him in a state.

I had a text this morning from her saying sorry she was. All i done was asked him if he had got in contact with Michelle and he bit my head of saying that i'm now taking the p1ss and now isn't talking to me.

I only asked coz I thought he could've done it in a caring way.

Why's he being like this?

Big boy agony auntIt’s not him, sound like you expect him or people to act in a certain way and if they don’t you feel a bit disappointed, just relax and try not to worry on people’s actions... if it does not turn out the right way just relax and see how it flows don’t waste your time on people try to give your some emotional support just be strong on your own, if they give it to you fine if they don’t fine... be relaxed in your mind don’t waste your time worrying...
