Such as when I put my yoga mat on the floor to do some stretching he bombarded me with questions before I could even answer the first one. Like, Where did you get that mat? When did you get the mat? What are you gonna do with the mat for? First thing in the morning I feel irritated cause I felt like I cannot find a relaxing and quite time in the morning instead I was like being interrogated because I brought the mat inside the house. Sounds like he was taking an interest. Explain to him yoga to you is your time out, quiet place.

sounds like he was trying to connect to you on some level
I drive my hubby nuts in the mornings I get up around 5:30 or so and I'm a morning person. He gets up closer to 7 and is not fully functional for nearly 2 hours.
IF i asked him questions like that in the morning he would NOT respond well nor would our day be a good day.
Perhaps you can say to him next time.. "Its for my yoga practice and after I am done and showered if you would like to discuss it I would be happy to do so"

Some men are clueless about the basics of yoga. Like why would someone spend 20 dollars of a yoga block. There are also many gadgets such as the toning balls, pilates straps, etc. It's something not a manly husband would understand I think he's just curious and didn't know what that hype was about.
