A female reader, aphexinfinite United Kingdom +, writes (6 August 2010):

aphexinfinite agony aunti have the implant it doesnt all work for people in the way they hope ie some have regular periods others dont some have one in a blue moon others have constant so dont worry about your flow it can be all over the place but after about say 5 months you will settle into a more routine so what your flow will be then will be more like what it will be all the time. i had crazy ones till 5 months then once in a blue moon i mean almost never! great! also wearing condoms prevent stds so be careful! the implant is the one of the most effective against pregnancy even better than the pill! but each to their own method as long as you dont snap it you will be protected! takes alot to snap one during the time i had the first one it was a little bent when taking it out but i work in hard labour so more prone to get bashed about lol.. dont worry if you still feel worried after all our information go to your local gp for a test or buy a tester from your local pharmacie. good luck aphex
