I didnt notice until afterwards that I had bled. Does this mean I have lost my virginity? Or will I still bleed my first time having sex? I wasn't worried because everyone says it will hurt when I finally do have sex and it really didnt hurt. Of course, I'm uncomfortable now but I'm hoping I am still a virgin. I don't think I will ever do that again.

Unless you used a cucumber everyday and never did kegels your vagina will always tighten back up. It is a muscle. If their comments were true how on earth do you think women with children would have enjoyable sex after having their birth canals stretched out 5 inches for a human to be pushed through? Come on guys do a little fucking research. and also personal experience, my fiancé and I, who I later had a child with, have experimented with a cucumber before. I did feel a little "wrecked" afterwards but kegeled for a day and was back to normal.

Of course you are a virgin. Now you have a problem though as you are going to have to be careful to wait for a guy who can match up to your chosen salad product! And not just in the size and endurence category, probably no guy will match that, just try and wait for a guy who will care more for you afterwards than your well loved vegetable. Until then you are better off with your vegetable friend, but note the hygine comments :)

Another idea, or more like a rule, is that if you absolutely must use veggies, have a condom on them. This will make sure you do not "lose" parts of the veggie inside of you, or scratch yourself, and everything will be clean.

I actually know a girl who went to the hospital to get a pickle removed from her vagina because she too was using a veggie for masturbation. So it's a BAD idea to masturbate with produce.
To echo everyone else, yes you are still a virgin.
For masturbation, you can use an electric toothbrush, vibrators from sex shops, or even your clean hands. Also it's a good idea to wash/sterilize your toys after each use to avoid infections.

Plus, everyone is different. you might not have even bled your first time. I didnt bleed til a couple weeks after I started having sex. Plus, now you wont have to worry about that annoying and painful little detail anymore.

I agree with others; you have NOT lost your virginity.
However, I would urge caution in inserting food or other non-sterile objects into yourself. That way lies infection.
Don't stop "playing", just get some toys from a sex shop - online, if you are shy!

But this won't necessarily happen only once. When I first had sex, it didn't really bleed at all. When I had another boyfriend later, that is when it bled. So it kind of depends. Sounds like you went for it with the cucumber, though ... hope he called you the next morning ... ; ) ... sorry, but it is funny really. In my opinion: you broke the physical seal to your vagina, but of course you haven't lost your virginity. You will do that when you first have sex. And you may bleed again then. And anyhow, in a way it will be nicer because you won't be worrying so much about any physical pain.Winner all round. Don't worry. It is fine. And a good story to tell someone in years to come ...

You are still a virgin psycologicaly but as far as bleeding again, nope it's a one time thing with the hymen. No worries..."he'll" never know if you just be quiet about it.

This comes down to a matter of definition. How do you define virginity? Intact hymen? If so then what about the girls who aren't born with a hymen, or have a small one that doesn't "break" when you have sex like a full hymen will? Or those who break it through activities or the use of tampons?Virginity to me is not about a hymen. To me a virgin is someone who has never had sex with a man, or intercourse if you want to be more specific. It's not about the "popping of the cherry", it's about the full experience of being naked and intimate with ANOTHER PERSON.So, to me, you're still very much a virgin as you were on your own and not with a man, and you haven't had a man's penis inside of you. The feeling is quite different than a cucumber.

A
reader, anonymous, writes (9 September 2011): i completely agree with the other responses...virginity is physical and emotional...physical is when the hymen breaks and that can happen coz of a number of activities...2nd is emotional and that is when you will have actual sex with a man...so dont worry....and play safe

A hymen does not equal virginity.
You can only lose your virginity when you have sex. Masturbating IS. NOT. SEX.
Period.

Interesting question. You possibly penetrated your hymen if indeed you was previously virgin, but loss of virginity only occurs when penetrated vaginally by a man's penis. Females often experience hymen breakage via a number of activities or accidents, including sports, horseback or bicycle riding, falls, even exercising . . . but insertion by an object as you described may break your hymen as well. That would NOT qualify by most any definition as "loss of virginity," however.
