Have been safe but missed my periods. Might I be pregnant? Does air travel affect periods?

A female United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

Hey everyone, I'm very concerned because my period is over a week late. I am not on the pill and my boyfriend and I used a condom every time but once, and he pulled out. I took a pregnancy test a week after my missed period and it came back negative. I have no signs or symptoms of pregnancy, and I would be about 5 weeks by now. I just came back from a week long vacation in a time zone that was different by 2 hours and I flew on a plane. I read that these can sometimes affect a period.

I just want other people's opinions because I'm very worried that I'm pregnant. Thank you!

LucyandMikeforever agony auntI'm Shute the time zone had no effect on your period but the higher pressure in the air plane may have had a small effect but I think you won't have your period if you keep stressing over it. Relax don't think about it and it will happen

person12345 agony auntA time zone probably wouldn't affect it too much, but stress can. If you miss your next period as well and the pregnancy tests continue coming back negative, consult your doctor to rule out hormonal problems.
