A female , anonymous writes:

I need to know if my paculiar eating habits are due to some sort of eating disorder. After i broke up with my ex i started only eating three small meals a day (i used to snack all the time). Now i sometimes forget to eat, which is something i never used to do. everyone tells me i look really skinny. I can't handle regular sized meals at restaurants etc. and i often find that even if i am hungry the thought of eating makes me feel sick, so i don't have anything. When i try to eat breakfast i often find that i struggle to swallow, and i wretch while i'm trying to force myself to eat it. What's going on?

I broke up with someone a week ago, and find it difficult to eat also. This comes with grief. We lose our appetite. I went to the grocery store today, and went down every aisle, and only bought what I thought I could handle. Small things. This is okay for now. Make yourself eat small things like pieces of cheese, yogurt, a handful of cereal here and there... I'll bet you can handle food but in small doses. This is how I am coping, and at the end of the day, I find I have actually eaten quite a bit. Over time both our normal eating habits will return. However, if this has been going on for quite some time, I urge you to go see a dr. I am in the pain game too right now sister, you are not alone!!

bridget agony auntHey there anon

I know what you are going through I am getting help with an eating disorder just now aswell so I undersatnd how you are feeling..

I think the best thing you need to do is get help from your GP urgently this is a mental helath problem.. You have to see that because of the break up with your ex you are finding it hard to cope so you have controlled your daily intake..

This is dangerous..

I would advise you to take control and get some help urgently before its too late.. Belive me an Eating Disorder never leaves the person but it can be controlled and kept at bay... Dont leave it too long like I did..

Good Luck and Best Wishes

Jacqueline
