Hasn't told me loves me. Should I be concerned?

Question - (19 January 2013) 0 Answers - (Newest, )
A female Canada age 30-35, anonymous writes:

My boyfriend and I have been together for 9 months, and he hasn't told me he loves me. We see each other when we can, and do an equal part in coming up with days to see each other, and things to do together. He's very affectionate when we're together. We get along great, and we don't really argue at all. We text each other every day. I've met all his friends, traveled to see his family and what not.

Things seem great, but should I be worried that he hasn't said he loves me?

He was engaged about 10 years ago, which ended very badly, and I am wondering if this could be something heavily affecting this situation.

He doesn't express his feelings very well, and I have talked to him to him about it and asked him to just let me in on how he feels, about me and about everything in general.

In all, should I be concerned that he hasn't said it yet? Should it be a red flag?

Thank you!
