writes:I have just been wondering about something..I am with my boyfriend for 1 year now, he was very good friends with an ex of his until we met and then for the first few months that we were dating but now she never gets in touch with him. My boyfriend is fine about it. They broke up about 3 years ago but were together for 6 years. I didnt like the friendship and am glad she is not around anymore but its made me wonder why.I suppose my question is why would you stop contacting an ex if you had been good friends? She is not in a relationship to my knowledge. I like to think she has backed off because she thinks we are serious about each other and is keeping her distance.I hope she doesnt have feelings for him.has anyone stopped being friends with an ex when the ex met someone new?

I think she did have feelings for him, but saw that he was moving on with you so just backed away. I don't think you need to be worried at all. It's a good thing that this happened.
