I've tried counselling and it didn't work for me but I'd be glad of any other suggestions. Thankyou in advance. Reply to this Question Share |

Have you figured out what the triggers are that make you eat. Sometimes it is helpful to keep a journal when those feelings come your way. The other aunts are right about drinking a lot of water...a lot of the time when you think you are hungry you are really thirsty...I am not a big fan of water myself but I pour flavor crystals in and that makes a difference as well. Another trick that I use is to plan my grocery shopping so that I do not even go near the junk food aisle. I tried to avoid visits to the convenience store as well because all of those tempting snacks are there. You mention you are on a diet but how about thinking of a lifestyle change instead....lots of the green and orange fruits and veggies BUT do not overdo it...take a day each week when you indulge in the things you love. Leaving behind junk food is tough...are you getting support with your weight loss program. I lost thirty pounds last year with these guidelines...hopefully this helps.

Make sure there are no goodies like chocolate bars and crisps in your cupboard for you to get at. If you feel peckish make yourself a bowl of porridge, its a slow release carbohydrate that keeps your hunger at bay for hours. Also a pint of water will help also.
Good luck x

I know drinking water when you get the urge to eat will fill your stomach and so you wont want to eat no more. Do u think that might work? You could always get rid off the chocolate bars
