Question - (2 November 2009) 4 Answers - (Newest, 2 November 2009)
A female United Kingdom age 30-35, *runettebarbie writes:

My period should be due next Week and it comes about every 30-32 days. 14 days after my period I had a ache on one side of my pelvic area. So I think I ovulated then....

Now I have been getting a ache since yesterday and it seems like it could be my ovaries as it is on both sides and sometimes it is just aching on one side. There could be a chance I could get pregnant as I did have unprotected sex at the end of my period...

I just want to know what the ache is as I am in discomfort. When I wake up I have a light ache in my stomach and feel a bit sick. Thanks.

I have been pregant before. I never got those symptoms until after 4/5 weeks. I JUST WANT TO KNOW IF ANYBODY ELSE HAS EXPERIENCED THIS? :)

Lola1 agony auntYour question was "Has anyone else experienced this?"

While I agree you should see a doctor if you are concerned, to answer your question, I don't think I have experienced this. I am not 100% sure what kind of ache you are feeling. It is possible that I have at some point, but dismissed it.

I hope you feel better soon. :-)

This could be anything or nothing. I'm afraid I don't think anybody on this site will be able to offer you much more help. The symptoms you describe are so vague and generalised even a medical professional couldn't hazard a guess from what you've written.

You descibe "stomach pains" but this could mean anywhere from just under the ribcage right down to the pubic bone. There are so many organs and body systems in that small space - you need to go to a doctor and point out exactly where the pain is.

Pregnancy is always a possibility. Just becasue you didn't experience these symptoms as early before doesn't mean it will be the same for every other pregnancy. Each pregnancy can be different. Get a test done.

Sorry I can't be much more help

A reader, anonymous, writes (2 November 2009):

You can get pregnant from unprotected sex at any time even during your period. Are you married? Why are you trying to get pregnant otherwise?

The ache could be you ovulating, it could be gastrointestinal since your stomach hurts, that is what that means.

Instead of asking people on here if they have had aches in their ovaries, if you are experiencing discomfort and feel sick perhaps a trip to the doctor is in order to answer your questions accurately.

I had problems like this last year and it turned out I had a cyst on one of my ovaries, most women have them but dont realise they do as they never cause problems but it can be different for others who really suffer if they have them. Best thing to do is either wait to see if your period comes or make a doctors appointment and they can examine you and send you for a scan to see what the problem is. Hope this helps!
