I bled for a good 5-6 weeks after the first. Clots too. Was minging! I think they wondered if there was a bit of placenta left in there for a while there, but it wasn't and did stop eventually. Didn't bleed for more than a week with the second. You are suppose to wait 6 weeks til you try having sex though. That might have something to do with it.

My youngest is almost 9 so I have to try to remember quite a bit back here, but if I remember right I bled for quite a bit after giving birth. Like a couple weeks. Also, you are not supposed to have sex for 6 weeks at the very minimum!! You should NOT be having sex so early after giving birth! Your body is not ready and I would not be terribly suprised to find out that that is what is causing the continued bleeding.

From memory, your body does some very strange things after giving birth. I take it you didn't give birth naturally? We tried sex 3 weeks after I gave birth and it hurt like hell and had to wait another 3 weeks after that! I know I bled for quite some time - possibly 1 1/2-2 weeks. If you're losing loads, I'd try and get an appointment sooner than next week and explain why. If it's just like a period, I expect it's just your body doing strange post-birth things. xx
