By doing so, it is no longer effective. I didn't realize this was possible. I put the condom, and it went on easy to the base. I have been told that if I tried to put it on inside out, it wouldn't roll down or there would be a struggle due to (I assume) lack of lubricant. So at the time, I didn't think nothing of it. But perhaps because my penis was already well lubricated, maybe the inside out condom would go on without a struggle? I tend to worry about many things, and this "what if" is bothering me. Any help would be appreciated.

In my days ladies insisted to put the light out before that last piece of cloth came off so I often faced this situation.Best way is to plan beforehand and take the condom out of its sheath and put it near you so you don't fumble for it in the dark.

I agree with WiseOwlE
Before you have ANYMORE sex, you need to practice practice practice!!!
If it went easily to the base I doubt it was inside out, however....
Practice!!
We had a class in biology where we got 3 condoms - 1 we had to put on our OWN foot (yes it's possible) so that EVERY girl in the class UNDERSTOOD that if a guy EVER said, Oh I can wear condoms they are too small.. he is full of crap. The second one onto two finger and lastly one we put on a carrot.
Since the girls and boys were split in two room there was less giggling and stupidity - and it was a GREAT lesson.
Oh, and since you are a total novice here - REMEMBER flavored condoms are for ORAL sex - NOT for inserting into a vagina or anus. They are for SAFE oral sex.
I'm sure if you look on YouTube there are some HOW TO tutorials you can look at too.
Now, go practice.

Hopefully you had it all the way back to the base of your penis before penetration. Which side is out makes no difference. The point is to keep all the contents in, and any possible infection out!
At your age, you should know more about how to use a condom; before you ever attempted to use one. You should have learned how to apply one and their use early in secondary school. Not to mention in magazine ads, the internet, and from older guys who use them. Why would you attempt to use one before you knew how to put it on? You could have practiced before-hand. On a banana or cucumber, if not on your own penis.
I recommend you do practice, over and over; before you attempt sex again!

Dear OP
Your question awakened my scientific spirit!
So, after reading your post, I took two condoms out of my drawer and I tried to put one on my dildo the wrong way around. It's almost impossible to do it, because the fabric gets stuck all the time. It's not because of lubricant, it's.. because of the way it's rolled. Like, like.. uhm.. well, I don't have an analogy. Try out for yourself if you don't believe.
It only works smoothly if it's rolled the right way around.
A wrongly put-on condom probably becomes ineffective, because you may only manage to cover half of your dick with it because of the resisting material, so it might fall off during sex.
