A female United Kingdom age 36-40, anonymous writes:

Ok so i am 24 years old, have been seeing my boyfriend for the last few months. He is in the army and is going to horrid Afghan in a few weeks time.

We have had protected sex everytime and a condom has never broke, as i have been told it is obvious. But my period is 2 days late. I've had the typical pms cramping and headache for the last week, but no period! I've heard stress can cause your period to delay, could it be this as i have been very stressed with the thought of him going out there and also it's going to be my nans 1st anniversary of her death this next weekend, so i've had that on my mind too.

I been stressing for the last 2 days as well, thinking oh god don't let me be pregnant. Someone please put my mind at ease! Obviously if my period does not come after a week i'll do a test. But still..Help.

DrPsych agony auntStress can have a big impact on your cycles. As you have missed a period, why not just take a test? If you have been using protection correctly it is unlikely that you are pregnant. However, rather than worry about it, take a test! If you miss a few periods in a row, see your doctor to check if there is a hormonal cause for the absence.

Fefi agony auntits ok, it has to be the stress, all the pressure on your shoulders can delay it for more than a week, by what happened to my bessie, and she still had cramps, but if you're that worried about becoming pregnant, then get checked, but there is only 7% chance of that happening.

it couldnt also be something to do with the food that you eat, eating products rich in carbohydrates can delay by what i hear like banana or potatoes.

hope you feel better by the next few days and tell me how things go ;)
