writes:hiya!I fancy my ex`s best mate and i have done since before me and my ex went out.The problem is that he only occasionly comes out with our group and when he does i just want to be near him and cant keep my eyes of him! The best mate is so nice and sweet, and always pays me lots of attention and we have shared quite a lot of eye contact but im not sure if he fancies me!Is it possible that he is was only nice to me becaue i was his best mates gf?I need a guys perspective, do u normally make an effort to be nice and get to know your best mates gf? If he did fancy me, is he likely to let anything happen or not? Thanks

 In some cases DV1 is right...there is a rule. But I have found that most people do not follow it, and explore the possibilities in secret.
If he was being nice WHILE you were together, then it is becuase you are friends. If he is being nice AFTER the break up, it is very possible he likes you...as for if something would happen, usually it is an issue of opportunity to do it without getting caught.

 There's a rule among guys that they won't date a friend's ex - girlfriend. The only time that the rule is broken is if the ex(guy) gives the ok.
