It's something that's been hard coded into our genetic makeup over thousands of years-as with many creatures on this particular tiny pale blue dot.
But that doesn't mean there is more to it than looks alone-getting to know someone for who they are is, to me at least, equally important .

Guys have that reaction of checking out just about anyone who has two boobs an ass and a heartbeat. Ever notice if you are in a business situation that guys seem to "Talk to your chest"?
Its just part of the hetero male makeup to stare at a good looking woman(hopefully without them drooling).
Is it normal? yep, for a guy.
Is it disrespectful? Yep it is.
However it seems that basically guys will not care and basically do it on instinct as they enter their 20's. But maybe giving your man a good poke in the eye or a nice hard slap to his face the next time you catch him staring at a pair of double D's might get the message across.
Of course since he is getting caught by you already, he obviously hasn't mastered the momentary look that guys use, or the "I'm staring out into space as the corner of my eye feasts upon that fine ass walking down the street...just in time to pull it together and not get busted by their girlfriend.
Some may argue that if women are offended by it that its an esteem issue, but I contend that its just plain disrespectful, especially in front of your partner.
I will admit that I am about as guilty of it as any male, but that does not make it ok.
