However I just read somewhere that you get tanned when skiing?!I do NOT want to get a tan and generally avoid the sun like the plague!! I am firstly already dark skin /ethnic - and my skin does not tan evenly; if I get a tan, it tans in spots and splotches and many different colours - because I am so dark skinned I can get a tan in as little as 15mins if in the sun! Luckily living in England it is rarely ever hot, and our summers only last maybe 2wks so it is not so much of a problem here. When I tan like this it looks extremely bad - and it is nothing make up, concealers can hide or fix (believe me I have tried!) And my tan lasts for about 6mths which is awful! So I walk around looking like a cross between a leper and a leopard! Really trust me when I say it looks really reallyy horrible, and then I am stuck like that for half a month!Anyway - is it true I am now going to be doomed with a tan? I will be going skiing for a week. And if so what can I do to avoid a tan all together? I have been away on a hot holiday last year and took factor 70 sunscreen that I used religiously nor did I sit out in the sun and still got a tan! This year I hoped to go somewhere really cold for holiday to not have this problem and now I realise I probably will have it now if not worst!! :( :( Please any help will be much recommended!By the way, nothing is wrong with me if anyone tells me to go to a doctor - it has been this way my whole life and just a matter of lots and lots of uneven distribution of melanin, nothing I can change or fix and certainly not life threatening!)

Here are my thoughts... since you're going skiing and not out on the beaches, at least you have a great excuse to cover every inch of skin! Make use of winter layering and get yourself covered in coats, gloves, hats, scarves as well as dousing yourself with a strong sun screen. You could go as far as a ski mask, though then people won't be able to see your gorgeous face...
Anyway, have a blast!!
