A male United Kingdom age 41-50, anonymous writes:

As you all know, my last girfriend was Hungarian, but tomorrow night I am going on a date with an English girl. She likes my sense of humour (by text), likes my picture.

Its been a while since I've dated (in English!)

We are going for a drink, what should I do and ask?

I didn't mean it like that!

I meant she needs the money at work! She's not an escort!

So, no I'm not paying for a date!

She has cancelled five times now, despite texting that she thinks I'm attractive with a good sense of humour. She's a nurse, and I am fully aware that the job is hard, but should I give her the benefit of the doubt again?

We (or rather she!) has rearranged for Friday evening at 7.30! Everything I have texted her so far has made her smile or laugh and she admitted herself that she is quite a cheeky, naughty girl!

YouWish agony auntOoh! Get her talking! Be interested in her! Ask her about herself. Also, many guys forget this, but be courteous to your dinner server too! You'd be surprised how many guys are very interested in their dates while blowing off the server. It's not unnoticed!

Honeypie agony auntMovies, travels, food, music, books...... I would avoid talking about exes, but find some thing the two of you have in common. Ask her question and pay attention.

Use your manners and don't get drunk :)

And have a great time.

Hennessy1989 agony auntIf she likes your sense of humour then im sure you can rely on that, first dates can be awkward, just relax, tell her she looks nice buy her drinks, if you already get on over txt and there's an attraction between you both then I'm sure it will go well
