I know this is part of my body cleaning itself out of all the toxins but does anyone know how long this will last for? and also is there any thing to reduce or even stop it? I have been going to the beach about 2 times a week, but if i go more often will it help clean my skin quicker? Reply to this Question Share |

Your acne breakouts are probably unrelated to your quitting cigarettes, but may be partly due to your hormones or contact with skin care products or hair care products that are producing more oil in your skin.
Acne is caused by an over abundance of oil and skin cells clogging the hair follicles until a bacteral infection of the hair follicle forms with a build up of sebum (a combo of oil and skin cells)
If you are going to the beach a lot, it is important that you wear sunscreen as excessive sun can aggravate acne and also cause darkening of the skin where the acne was, due to some scarring...so you need to protect your skin from the sun.
Wash your face with a gentle soap that contains salycilic acid...A good one to try, Aveeno Foaming Face Wash for Oily Skin, Use a benzoyl Peroxide cream on existing acne to help break down the oil and existing pimples under the skin. Do not overwash your face, but wash it when you come in from working out or sweating, wash all of your makeup of before going to bed.
If things don't improve see a dermatologist for perscription antibiotics and gels for the condition.
Take care.
