writes: Girls, would it bother you if a boy was stronger than your boyfriend? My girlfriend invites me to her home often. She has a 12 year old brother who wrestles. He's always challenging me to wrestle and arm-wrestle. So, I did one day and he beat me both wrestling and arm-wrestling in front of my girlfriend and her two friends, and I outweigh him by 40ish pounds and I'm several inches taller. My girlfriend encourages it, but has also acted strange around me ever since. Her brother may be small, but he's strong like a damn 110lb dog, stronger than his size. Would you be less attracted to your boyfriend? Reply to this Question Share |

Yea man avoid the kid. Tell him ur not interested n dont feel like doing it. And if he teases u dont show emotion just say I dont want to. I had guys in high school does that to me a lot cos I was big n tall but fat n they did it as a form of making fun of me. Deep down that serves as part of motivation for training today but ignore the little brat. He will stop asking u. And the thing about ego damaging yea girls like it when guys dont show they r vulnerable to ego destroying. Act unfazed n confident n firm when u tell him off.

vince32writer is verified as being by the original poster of the questionI guess her brother being on the wrestling team is an exception. Something tells me she is more behind his challenges than he is. Lol. Thanks for all of the responses and advice. Much appreciated!

i'd think she'd find it rather hilarious and endearing. most women don't care about that stuff, despite male belief that it matters.
if it were me, and i were seeing you, and you'd gotten your ass kicked by a 12 year old, i'd find it incredibly amusing. i'd laugh and expect you to laugh it off with me. but not laughing at your masculinity. just laughing because it was funny. just brush it off and laugh it off. that could be what's causing the problem. you could be over-compensating now, or just flat out acting strange. and she may be feeding off of you.

My boyfriend is a skinny guy who probably would get his ass kicked in every situation. I do not care.
I agree you're probably "seeing" an issue when it wasn't there because your ego is bruised. I doubt she cares at all, it's you who cares. My guess is that either she's not acting weird and it's in your head, or you're acting oddly towards her, which is making her act weird back. Sometimes we aren't the strongest/fastest/best, it happens, dust yourself off and move on.

I can tell you that a lot of women would be turned off by it, my wife and previous girlfriends included.
Both consciously and sub-consciously women want to be protected and taken care of by their spouse, and with all due respect you got whooped by a 12 year old so she's probably doubting your ability to take care of her.
Maybe you could fix the fight next time. Give the kid 20 bucks to lose and then tell your girl you were afraid to hurt him last time until you realized he was pretty tough.

No it wouldn't bother me. It just shows how sports should be a lifelong activity, not just something you do because you are in school. I bet Arnold Scharwzenegger is half as strong as he was in the movies 20 some years ago.
