Girlfriends mom won't move out, and I don't want to move in

A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

My girlfriend and I are in a long distance relationship and the plan had always been for me to move in with her after I graduated. About a year ago, due to some hardship, her mom moved in with her on what was supposed to be a temporary basis... A year later, she is now on the lease and shows no signs of leaving. My intimacy with my girlfriend has hugely declined because her mom is always there and we have no space or privacy. Her mother is also an emotional vampire, she's so negative and it's honestly so draining to be around. I find myself wanting to be there less and less. She is so explosive and I'm genuinely terrified of her, so naturally, I now don't want to move in.

I am graduating soon, and now don't know what to do. I don't want my girlfriend to feel like I'm asking her to choose me or her mom, but I don't know how to tell her that I just can't move in with them both and sacrifice my own mental health and boundaries. Her mom wouldn't move out - and why would she? She's getting a free house, food on the table, and doesn't have to pay a dime despite getting a lot of money each month which she sure doesn't spent helping my girlfriend with even though my girlfriend is financially struggling. It all makes me so upset and I know it would only be a matter of time before we got into a big argument if I moved in.

I just want my girlfriend back, and to be alone with her... Dear Cupid, what on earth do I do?
