At first they seemed to be fairly regular - I'd usaully come on every other month at the beginning of the month. I was always organised, and wore a pad a day before I was due on. However, my last period was in January this year, and since then, I havn't had any. I'm DEFINATELY not pregnant, and I'm not aware of suddenly losing a lot of weight. I did become a vegiterian about a month ago, however, but I don't see how that affected my absent periods the latter months.I'm really worried, so please can anyone who knows about this sort of thing reply shortly? Thanks :)x x x

We spoke to our doctor about it once and he said that young girls start their periods but don't always ovulate until they have been having periods for a while and its not until ovulation begins that periods then become regular and settle down into a cycle. So don't worry it may just be that you are having the periods but not yet ovulating.. however, it would be still be just as risky and dangerous not to take precautions if a girl was in an intimate relationship! take care xx

I am sixteen and started when i thiiiiink I was 13? Yeah. So that was three years ago yet even now I had to wait about 6 months inbetween one period and the next.
I am not sure whether the long wait as down to stress, naturally unbalanced hormones or a change in diet, all i know is that the period wilol come eventually. Just be thankfully its infrequent cos come on, noone actually enjoys being on ! xxxx

So it is normal to have irregular periosd but if you are at all worried then just pop along to docs or see the nurses at the surgery if they have them and they can give you better advice. x

As you have mentioned, you only started your periods last year. It is very common for them to be irregular and all over the place for months and in some cases years. It will most probably settle down eventually.
The only other reasons why your periods could have stopped are pregnancy and weight loss. Which havent been an issue for you.
Wait a few more months and if you still havent had a period see a doctor.
Don't worry it is most likely that you're body is just readjusting to becoming a woman.
Good luck

I cant stress this enough, the only person who could be of any help to you would be your OBGYN. Have you had any paps lately?
