A male United States age , anonymous writes:

My girlfriend of 1 year thinks i am cheating on her when i know that i'm not how do i prove it. I went to work 1 day she said she found a pair of my socks downstairs under a table in a locked room which i have no key to and it has an alarm on the door and window. She said that i went out after she was asleep and got a girl and brought her back to her house while she was sleeping and had sex with her and during this i must have lost my socks. She threw my stuff out the door. What do i do.

A female reader, aunt honesty Ireland +, writes (25 September 2010):

aunt honesty agony auntIt sounds like your girlfriend is overly paranoid either that or she is just using that as an excuse to finish with you, either way this is harsh behaviour. If you really love her then you just have to keep telling her that its not true write to her and tell her that you havent cheated on her, there may be an underlying problem here of low self asteem so maybe suggest to her to go and get counselling.

The old Man? agony auntIf she is falsely accusing you of cheating and claims to have found your sox in a locked room in which you have no key to, she herself is up to something.

It has been my experience that when I was accused of doing something that I didn't do, and their reaction was extreme (throwing your stuff out) It was in fact THEY who was doing the cheating, or up to something!

If you are truly innocent as you say, my advice to you is to just leave! Go, move on and find someone whom you can trust not to play childish games.

Just remember, you can always prove that you DID do something, but you can rarely prove that you didn't.

She's lieing to you and you know it. She is the guilty one, you just don't know of what.

Good luck.
