Question - (4 March 2010) 2 Answers - (Newest, 4 March 2010)
A female United States age 41-50, anonymous writes:

today a close friend of mine made me cry. but it was not on purpose, it was something they said an innocent observation, that rang true and all of a sudden i found myself with a big lump in my throat and left unexpectedly.

well my nice friend called and texted me as to why i left so quickly. and i told them the truth, i got sad and cried and now this friend feels miserable, how do i make them feel better?

what was said was the truth, but no one had ever thought to mention it. i am proud of my friend for bringing it up.

it is something i intend to fix, within my life, but for now, how do i go about making things right for my friend? a way to say "thanks for noticing and wow! you're right!!!"

I agree, you could show her this. Or meet up with her, give her a big hug and say thanks for noticing.

You can tell her what you wrote here- "Thanks for noticing and wow! You're right!" Or you can tell her that you appreciate what she said and thank her. You don't have to make a big deal out of it- just thank her and everything should be fine.
