We're both virgins and everything we have done so far has been our first time. We've decided that I'll go on the pill (and be on it for a couple of months before having intercourse) and that we'll use a condom as well. The thing that is annoying me, though, is the fear of an STD. I know that we're both virgins (and we've been best friends since we were 5 so we both know that each is being honest) so is there any point in getting checked out or am I just being overly-cautious?Thanks :)xx

It sounds like you and your partner have a really good relationship and both trust eachother but it is always good to make an appointment with you GP just to find out if either of you have an STI.
Sounds like you're both acting very responsible and mature about all of this and is good you're waiting to have sex.
Hope it all works out for you.

Well I can see where you are coming from here and I would always advise if in doubt get a screen. Unfortunately STIs aren't just sexually transmitted and can be caught in other ways too, so a check up first is a good idea.
I am really pleased that you are taking it seriously, I really wish more of our readers where as sensible as you.
