Well you're gonna have to meet her parents/she's gonna have to meet your parents so at least it won't be awkward next time...but it will only be awkward if you make it awkward and sit there saying nothing. just talk to her like you normally would, i dont see how your mom being there would change anything.
With regards to the rest of the date, I wouldnt have even gone to the movies, its the worst place to go for a date(the whole point of a date is to talk to eachother and get to know eachother). But get something to eat or go for coffee :)

You should introduce your mom to her, your family. Girls really appreciate it when you have something nice to say about your family. After the movie you can talk about the movie. The purpose of the date is to get to know each other and to see if there is chemistry. If you fancy her you can try for a kiss and then call it a night. Then you decide if you want to go out with her again. Always thank the date afterwards and do a follow up call within 2 days.
