writes: have a problem? my ex has said to me on phone after i discovered my jewellery is missing, i said where is my jewellery? his words where, "its down the pawn shop where i took my watch you know the one in so and so" i said where is my jewllery again in another call, he said i told you where it is already. i said why have you done this to me he said "im sorry i dont know" does this mean in a court of law provide evidence he stole my jewellery?. the calls have been recorded by police. can anyone help me with this as he is saying he never said he stole it, and is saying i am making all this up and thinks my jewellery is still here

Well if he said it was at the pawn shop and you have that recorded by the police, then I'd say that was pretty good evidence to be fair.

Phone tap evidence is a bit dodgy in UK courts.
You'd be better off talking to the officer who is handling your case down at the police station.
He will be able to tell you what the CPS will and will not take.
