writes: Just a quick one. Went out with someone (first date if you will), and had planned to meet up again soon. She's since postponed this, I think she has a lot on with work - stress etc. Is it too much to send her a card wishing her well? Have sort of done so via text already, but thought a card might be a nice gesture - but might it be too much for someone you've only really just met? Don't want to seem too forward etc... it might be taken either way I guess!

It’s a nice thought but it could be seen as a little pushy or too keen at such an early stage. Instead, leave it a few days, then call or text her again (calling is better if you can). Ask her how she is and tell her you hope all is well, tell her how much you enjoyed the first date and did she want to re-schedule your next date? That’s also very forward but it sends out a clear message that you’re keen and interested, and if she is too, she’ll respond encouragingly and re-arrange the date.
