reader, anonymous, writes (21 April 2009): Some stuff was going on in my neighbourhood when I was really little -- 5, 6 years old. You show me yours, etc. We'd "show bum and penis". When I was maybe 6, a girl who was perhaps 8 got me to pull my pants down, pulled hers down, quickly touched our genitals together, and said, "my sister told me that's what boys and girls do when they're in love." That would have been about 1968 or 1969.
I presume from that experience that kids have been doing that forever. And that as long as that's *all* that goes on, it's no harm done.

My friends have mentioned the doctor doctor game etc. but I never started doing sexual things with others until I was a teen. I remember chasing a boy down once to give him a kiss, but that's about it! I'm not a prude or anything, and I did know about sex. Just never happened. I did start masturbating pretty young though, maybe that has something to do with it?

And it has caused so many problems for all of my relationships. And even worse since i got married. Ive been addicted to porn since i was 6. reader, anonymous, writes (21 April 2009): My best friend was fingered at age 5 by a 6-year-old, and I know for a fact that that's definitely NOT normal. I think the average between me and most of my friends was probably around age 9 or 10, when some of us knew about sex and others didn't, and those who didn't wanted to "learn".
I think anything under 8 is way too young to even know all that much about sex, but it's not like I can just stop the entire learning process.
Depending on the life one led, they might have been exposed to different things at younger ages. If it's bothering you now, later in life, I really don't know what to say to that. Look back and reexamine why you had such urges at such a young age, maybe?
