Do I get rid of him for his nasty comments, or try to see his nice side?

I have been in a relationship for nearly two years. Recently he has been getting really nasty to me especially when drinking. He tells me he wants to end it and then the next morning acts as if nothing has happened.

I have been getting really depressed and find myself putting up with it. I love him and he has a nice side, but am I better off alone?

A reader, anonymous, writes (5 March 2005):

Your man is trying to break up with you! That is the truth..........Sorry, but that is it. No one wants to be with a "bad" drunk, beat him to the punch and end it. You may love him, but believe me it will only get worse. He will only start to get more and more hateful to you. You're better off telling him that you need someone who would not talk to you that way!

Good Luck
