A male Ireland age 30-35, anonymous writes:

ok, heres my problem

i like this girl in my class in University. we are both in the same project group as well which makes my situation a little better

I think that she likes me as well, one day in class she said I was Gorgeous, but the way she said it sounded more like she might have been joking a bit, mostly because she continued on to say that another guy in the group was more of a 2 year old child, he touched a glue gun twice in the space of 30 minutes.

then on a night out the next day, she on several occasions tried to get me to dance with her, but i wouldnt. not out of not wanting to, but because i cant dance.i know that that action could have put a spanner in the works.

then later on she kissed me twice. the first kiss i put down to her being a little too drunk, but then 15 minutes later she kissed me again. the second time i froze, i dont know why. theres spanner number 2

for the rest of the week she stilled looked like she was interested

but i dont know what i should do to grab more of her attention

now here are a few problems i have

i recently found out that i am severely Social Phobic, meaning i distain from going on nights out for fear of being judged by how i look, i start to question what i say to other people, agonising it thinking of what i could have said or done better, which in turn means i am kind of shy around women. i can talk to them as normal, but when it comes to other matters of interest, i fall very far from the mark.

so as you can gather, im very inexperienced in this subject

can anyone give me a few pointers on what i could do?

A male reader, Frank_Jr United States +, writes (14 October 2008):

Im the same way, so what I did was instead of going out I went to the gym. After a couple years of lifting and drinking protein shakes, you wont need to go out and get drunk to attract women. Literally girls will make it easy for you. Ive never asked a girl out in my life, but Ive had about 10 long term girlfriends before I settled down and married.

Oh learn how to dress and smell nice - that will be icing on the cake if you are in good shape.
