And I've heard plenty of other stories about ex's trying to sleep with their former girlfriend or boyfriend's friends. I'm not talking about having a relationship with any of these people, they are doing it purely to have sex. I don't understand this way of thinking, I would never try to have sex with any of my friends former boyfriends, like its so disrespectful and disloyal. Like how should I even act toward this friend that I found out is trying to have sex with my ex?

Unfortunately it seems that people aren't loyal anymore. I too experience this a lot. My best friend telling me about her other friend trying to hook up with the guy she's aware she likes.
There are loyal friends out there, you just have to be careful of them, I'm sure they will feel bad if not now, eventually for ruining friendships.
Honestly I would cut the friend out, they aren't worth your time if they won't commit to real friendship whilst you do.
