I went to the ER twice because i was having a burning sensation around what felt like my clitoris area. It was worse when i urinated,i had a frequent urge to urinate even when i didn't have to. I even didnt make it to the toilet once. Now im incontinent. The first time/ doctor told me my urine was clean and they found no UTI. She asked if i played sports and was there any discharge once i insinuated maybe it was something like a STI. After i pressed her for an answer she yelled yeast infection and asked if i wanted creme and ended up giving me a antibiotic anyway also saying i needed a family Dr. That didnt help so i went back and got tested for STIs but they gave me what they could without the results and that didnt help either. They never told me the results but i didnt get tested for herpes. This lasted for maybe several months. Could it be herpes? Does it sound like herpes? I didnt have any sores that i saw or that they saw.I used yeast infection creme and it didnt help either.

mystiquek agony auntI don't believe anyone on here is a doctor, OP. I'd be a little bit leary about taking advice from people who are well meaning but not trained medically. Unless we could actually see you and probably take some blood work none of us can know for certain what you have.

I recommend that you go to your family doctor, or preferably a GYN/OB doctor if at all possible. Don't guess and worry, go find out. Take care and good luck.

No it doesn't sound like herpes. I have had genital herpes for over twenty years and what you describe is nothing like herpes. Herpes does not affect urination at all, other than if you have a sore right next to where you wee from, it would burn or sting for the couple of days before the sore bursts. That's all. Incontinence has nothing to do with herpes. You really need to go back to your doctor and tell them you're struggling with this and need help. But no, not herpes.

Honeypie agony auntI forgot to add, it sounds more like a UTI (urinary track infection) but like previously stated, we can not diagnose a medical condition on a online forum. You need to see a doctor.

A female reader, anonymous, writes (25 February 2021):

Clearly you need to go back to the STI clinic for another chance to discuss your results but of course you may have been given the 'all clear ' if you weren't recalled.I

I think your first infection sounded like cystitis which is not sexually transmitted.

It seems odd that you weren't advised of this.

It's possible that you are so anxious about herpes that you haven't really been communicating properly and all that the medics notice is just how anxious you are, so I'm suggesting that you haven't been communicating as clearly as you should have.

You clearly don't have herpes.

Your symptoms are not in the range of herpes symptoms which is visible in your blood or as blisters around your vagina.

You had trouble peeing and pain in passing urine.

If you ruled out all STis, then it is logical that you would need to talk to your local doctor.

This is very important.

Sexually transmitted diseases don't cause incontinence.

Weakened muscles cause incontinence.

This can happen in childbirth and many women practice pelvic floor exercises to tighten the pelvic floor.

You can do this too.

Your doctor will know where suitable classes out, but you also need your doctor understand your symptoms in case you have something pressing on your muscles like a hernia which would restrict your efficiency and may cause you some pain.

Don't be embarrassed about this.

Doctors study for years so that they can help people in medical situations, especially if it affects your life in some way.

They cannot knock on your door and ask if by are ok.

You must go to them.

You have to get to the point so start with: I'm worried that I have become incontinent lately and it's affecting my life and my self esteem!I

Then the doctor will arrange for you to have the necessary scans to see how your muscles are.

But they will never ask you to strip off so that they can examine your clitoris because that is totally different to a bladder problem which is connected to the urinary tract.

The location is close but the bladder is a different department.

I don't know if you practice anal sex but if you did And your partner put a bacteria infected penis in your vagina or near your urethra where you pee from, then you could be reinfecting yourself again and again.

If you do practice anal sex then ban your partner from that area.

If he is stubbornly insisting on 'he likes it that way' then tell him to sling his hook elsewhere and goodbye.

It is rape for a male partner to force anal sex on a woman who tells him no.

If he whines and manoeuvres you into anal sex then that is a form of domestic violence.

Both rape and domestic violence carry prison sentences so you have more control over your body and body parts than you are aware of.

I think most medical people would have great sympathy for anyone being repeatedly abused by their partner in such a way that it produces a long term medical condition.

If I am way off the mark here, it doesn't hurt to see how others could interpret your problem without valid information.

It may account for some embarrassment on your part.

So the true answer lies with your doctor who can give you the correct medical treatment for whatever has caused this problem.

I'm fairly certain that incontinence is not caused by herpes.

Honeypie agony auntWe can't medically diagnose you, OP

Go see your family doctor not the ER. The ER is for EMERGENCIES not for potential STI's/STD's!

Or go to a GYN or if you do not have a family doctor go to Planned Parenthood or another free service.

Go to a different doctor.Sometimes that is all it takes to figure out what is wrong.Have you gotten a MRI or pap smear lately? That should be tried first.Different doctor for sure.

A female reader, anonymous, writes (25 February 2021):

Hi

I am not sure how things work where you live, but have you been screened for other Gynaecology conditions as well as the other things, like a smear test etc?

I just think if you can be tested, then ask for a test to rule things out.

I can't understand how medical staff have not given you any results, and how you can not get this information.

The urination frequency can mean many things, and to actually end up incontinent, say's you need to follow this up somehow.

In the interim it may be wise doing a bit of research for natural remedies that can help with women's lady gardens, and learn about soaps and products that might irritate you. Please don't ignore it, you are only young and incontinence can be sorted out. Pelvic floor muscle exercise's may help.

You must be assertive and ask questions and follow up on the answers, every body has the right to the correct diagnosis. If it was herpes then you need to know as this can cause other sinister conditions that may need monitoring.

Good luck, and be more careful regarding STD'S in future.
