My girlfriend says the pill helps with her skin, she has pretty troublesome skin with spots and sores especially on her back and upper arms. I was just wondering if this is true because I find it pretty hard to understand why the pill would help with this. I know it can help regulate the timing of her period and this is another reason why she takes the pill. Usually her periods are pretty heavy and can last up to 2 weeks. I guess the other question I have is should I be concerned about her health if she has poor skin and heavy periods combined? Is the pill a good choice to help with poor skin because in truth I havn't noticed any difference?

The pill can have effect on acne, but also on pilosity: less hair.

It has helped but has taken about 6 months to be effective. Cant help you with the question about your friends health although her GP must be aware of this if she is getting the pill prescribed - I guess some people are just unlucky!
