I got injections before and never had a period the whole time. I started having periods 1 month after I stopped taking them, they were light the first couple of months then they went back to normal. My bf was taking then and bled 3 weeks out of 4 each month. You won't know until you take them and your body will do whatever it will do. I did gain 3 pounds with every shot I took and the doctor said that was a common side effect and that I will never be able to get that weight off. That when I stopped taking them. I gained 12 pounds in one year. Good Luck to you!

It does for most people that have it, but i will say the only downfall i and many friends have found with this is, when you do actually want to try for a baby and come off of this injection it can take a year+ before your periods get back to normal.
Take care.xx.
