Does the contraceptive Implant hurt when it is inserted?

I am thinking of using the contraceptive implant. I was just wandering if it hurt at all to have it put in, thats the only part that puts me off.

im having the imlant tomorrow and will tell you how it goes..i am also worrieing about the pain too but if it stops you from all the things you dont want then go for it!

The doctor (or nurse) injects a little anaesthetic into your skin, and then pushes the tiny rod in, using a needle.

Because of the anaesthetic, there should be very little pain.

Generally, the procedure takes no more than two minutes. If you feel OK, you can go home immediately afterwards.

There might be a bit of bruising or soreness afterwards, but this isn’t often much of a problem.

If you do happen to get side-effects, you can always have it removed when you feel ready.
