The comment at the top about a muscle tearing, is completely incorrect, there is a small piece of skin called the hymen which generally breaks during sex for the firs time, although can happen whilst horse riding or using a tampton and often people don't even notice. Also if you think that sex will hurt, it is a million times more likely that it will, because you will tense up, making penetration more difficult. When I lost my virginity there was no pain, no blood, no discomfort, not the best sex ive ever had, but as long as its with some one you trust there is no reason your first time should be anything other than romantic and fun, don't forget, practice makes perfect! good luck

Only lots and lots of foreplay can prevent pain...and this isn't just about the first time but every time. If you're not aroused, it will hurt.

Please research about sex. Don't let anyone no matter how much you love them pressure you into losing your virginity without knowing all the risks involved - like getting pregnant, or catching sexually transmitted diseases -
You must learn more about this. Please educate yourself.
Sometimes sex for the first time does hurt, but not always. The boy must really care for you and think about you before himself. He must make sure that you are very relaxed and aroused. That makes it a lot easier and less painful. All girls have a muscle in their virgina that will be torn when you have sex for the first time. So it's normal, you should not fear that.
What's important is that you understand all the other risks involved in becoming a sexually active female.

It only hurts if you are not relaxed and aroused.......if your first time is when you are ready and with a guy you love, then it should be pleasurable and pain free. My first time was not painful at at all. We had lots of foreplay first and he waited to penetrate me until I told him to do so because I was ready:)
It can be painful if you are not relaxed because the muscles down there are tight and the guy essentially has to force his entry. It gets easier after a few times because by then the woman is more relaxed and knows what's coming.......if he is gentle with you, you wont have to wait and your first time can be pleasant as well!!
I hope this helps you a bit hun and I wish you a most enjoyable first experience!!!

It can hurt a little yes because your hyman is getting broke for the first time. But after that you get used to it. You need to be comfortable and ready to have sex for the first time or else it will hurt loads. You need to be turned on by your partner for your first time and want it as well as he does. Also ensure that he uses lubrication as well so it will make things easier for you. There might be slight discomfort at the start, but usually after that if you are comfortable it will feel good after the first minute. Just make sure everything is well moisturised and it is what you want. Don't feel pressured in to it or it will hurt if you are not ready because your body will not be producing the fluids that is needed.

one thing i would like to ask is why on earth would he say you must be scared of marrying him it sceems a v odd thing to say
