I was reading the understandable emotional answer from Auntie Stoned and I did some research on the internet for you. The umbrella organization of dutch doctors wrote to its members (doctors):
It's a widespread misconception that a miscarriage occurs by physical effort. For example, sex, falls, cycling, horseback riding or motorcycle riding do not cause miscarriage.
(about 15% of the pregnancies are ending with a miscarriage).
If a miscarriage occurs because of physical effort, it had to happen anyway a bit later, because the embryo was not strong enough.
A miscarriage is not to stop, not with medicines nor bed-rest. The divestiture of the embryo is a natural event.
(keep yourself far away from smoking and alcohol, because this is dangerous for your baby).
Recent research: Regular sex during the last phase (the third trimester) of pregnancy could effects even in less prematures.
I understand that this is an important topic for you.
Do your research and take care with believing everthing what people are telling (especially emotional people who have only their own experience and lack of official research). Don't forget that especially women can be very emotional about this subject.
I have noticed already in my rates here, I came down several points because of my answer to you but it's important for me is to give the correct information.
Honestly, in the past I was hoping so much for healthy children (afraiding for not having), did also my research (18-19years ago) and learned that a healthy embro can handle a lot of physical effort, but do not smoke and better no alcohol. (I have 3 children, healthy and beautiful (inside and outside)).
Take care and wish you two (three) all the best

A healthy foetus can handle this.As long as you feel comfortable, you can have sex also 'rough sex', but it could be a moment to discover sensual making love, if you not already did :)You like rough (and are also noisy), once the child is born, let them get used with noise. If the baby is sleeping, have the radio on etc, don't act like : ohhh ssssssst our baby is sleeping, better that they continue sleeping when you together are top-sporting and not awake from some noise your the house.Enjoy together and good luck with your baby. Please give some feedback, to the people who are answering your question, it's improving the answers and motivating.

I lost my baby at first trimester. Even though the doctor said sex doesnt hurt baby but I beg to differ because after a session of really rough sex, I felt pain in the tummy. Next day also same feeling. Two weeks later, I had ultrasound and the doctor said my baby is already dead two weeks ago, which was exactly when we had rough sex. From what we all know, first trimester is very fragile. You can judge from my experience.
