writes:Okay first of all i would like to say that i DO NOT find my teacher attractive in anyway but i would like to know if he finds me attractive and if i should have a word with him or stay away... as i do not want to be like his teachers pet like last year where there were rumours tht him and this girl (a pupil) were togeather and they would meet up at night and etc but anways im not goin to go in detail, but anyways her name was Katie and now im gettin called the new Katie and to tell u the truth... me no likey! well heres how i might think that he does like me or whatever...well yesterday my friend was in a spot of bother and confronted (lets call him MR.M.) Mr.M. for some advice and etc and throughout it my friend, becky was sayin ohh i wish i didnt tell anyone now as itll be round the school by tomorrow, and then he turned to me and said you can trust Mel - which is me - she is sensible and reliable and i have total fate in her that she would not tell anyone i can trust her... so blah blah blah so on and so forth, so anyways i had him in her class next two. It was really brillant... i actually enjoyed a day at school :O lol anways we have this lil joke goin on that he believes or is tryin to fool me into thinkin that fish sing to each other and etc etc... so i was like lets google it and i will prove you wrong ''alright then and he walked me over to his computer and said on you go'' and i typed it in and stuff came up etc etc and then i said haha see u were totally wrong! and then he said type in - the fished faced ogre... that is a singin type of fish and so i done it only to realise he was totally winding me up lol so i walked outta the room sayin ''ohh hahaha'' i knew that tht wasnt an animal i was just playin along.i was standing talkin to my mate from the doorway of this class and then she was lookin behind me and i turned around and MR.M. was inches away from my face with his hands up in the air tryin to scare me, which it did but that aint the point lol, here he said proof that it DOES exist so i read on... on this sheet of paper he handed to me it said ''annual fish singing concert... november 23rd-27th, central park, new york''i just totally looked at him and went okay... do u think i am 6? ohh no no Mel i dont its real honest so then me and him again went bk to his computer to google this to prove him wrong yet again and while walkin to his class he was walkin infront of me tryin to trip me up and stuff lol so yeah i went thro and sat on google with him but he did all the typin, and he was sittin incredibly close to me i said ohh gonna move up sir eh? in a jokey voice but he never... and he kept lookin in my eyes when he was talkin to me and because i was sittin to close to him his face was again inches away from mine! and at one point he turned around and i had to move my face as he was tht close but he seemed quite calm as if we were that close... so that kinda made me thinkthen in his staff room i drew a monkey and said ohh look tht is you! and then i threw paper at him for a joke and he then grabbed a bottle of water ancd squeezed it and went all over me :O so i then got mine and done the same back to him lol and we were just totally jokin around and he was teasin me callin me names etc for a laugh so i started to do it bk to him and then i was lookin at the time and i turned around and seen his eyes on my legs then they went all the way up my body and then he caught my eye and just continued to walk he didnt seem the slightest bit bothered that i just seen him look me up and down? what was that about eh?then i took his keys off of him and hid them and he came in the room and laughed and said ''ohh where are my keys'' it was quite amusin lolthen i went and opened up his door which he hates and then he put his hand on the back of my neck and said '' see you ya pest!'' in a jokey voice while laughin... also he was standin at his door and i was standin opposite it but we could see each other in this sorta school board thing? if ye get me? lol and he was standing smiling at me as i still had his keys and waving at me so i stood there and stuck my tounge out for a laugh and he stood there with this huge grin on his face starrin at me...then today he said he likes comin into school (his job) and i said y? our school is crap! and he was like for people like you... and he said look i know i tease you alot but i do think highly of you and then he started complimenting me- what the hell is that about? then when i was walkin outta his department he was starrin at me smillin and then winked and said bye Mel in this sweet tone of voice while he was still starrin at me, altho he had a class there?and he said ohh life would be dull without you mel... wht does he mean? i know i have went on a bit but can u help me?does he like me?xx

reader, anonymous, writes (29 September 2007): This post troubles me. I am a high school teacher and I cringe when I read posts like this. I do not think this will end well either way. If what you are saying is exagerrated it will still affect his career...one way or another. If he is violating his code of conduct he is playing with fire and should pay the consequences. Teachers, paticularly males leave the profession or do not enter it at all now because of worries about allegations like this. Stay clear

If you dont like the situation or position you are in i recommend backing off, as you may be giving him the wrong impression.

reader, anonymous, writes (28 September 2007): Sounds like he does. Sounds like he's trying to groom you, in the way a older person does to a young person. I'm glad your mature enough to see this is wrong, you can do two things. Stay away, don't speak to him about what you think or he'll get defences or worse report you, it happened to a freind of mine.
This what I do. Set him up, you could keep seeing him with other people with you and see how it goes, when you got enough evidence and he's flirting steps up a gear you can go to your head and tell him/her what this teacher is doing and how your worried about it. This is what I'll do to the creep!

 Some teachers can be very flirty, well they definately were at my school. I would say that your teacher flirts with you - but you are doing some serious flirting back! I doubt he would take it any further than this, (he would probably be sacked if he did) but by throwing things playfully at him/squirting water at him/having in-jokes with him, you are also playing a part without realising. I know it sounds like the boring option, but if you really want the gossip to stop, I suggest that you stop doing that kinda thing! To be honest, I don't really see any harm in flirting with your teacher - you both obviously enjoy doing so and it probably brightens up an otherwise boring school day. However, if he does show signs of taking it any further, I'd watch out... you could be seen as responsible for losing him his job. Also you have to remember that he is probably quite a bit older than you, and for all you know might have a girlfriend or wife anyway. But I reckon he'll keep it to in-school flirting. Good luck with it xxx
