A female Australia, anonymous writes:

Does my ex bf want me back? He broke up with me.

We had a fight because he was really upset/annoyed with me because I woudln't change my values and personality to be who he wanted. I believe in waiting for sex, where as he is fine with casual sex. Im not into clubbing and partying all the time, where as he is. I quiet by nature, where as he is overly loud and confident. I accepted who he was, as long as it meant I didnt have to change who I was. He always wanted to change me. The only thing he didnt want to change about me was my looks. The only thing he valued in me was how pretty i was. Therefore we really didnt have a relationship did we? Not even the basis for a friendship.

I asked him if he wanted to break up, because he seemed so unhappy with me as he had all these complaints and always wanted to change me. At first he suggested we go on a break for a few weeks. I said I didnt want to do that, that I wanted to work it out now. So eventually he said he thinks we should break up.

however, he keeps messaging me saying he cares about me and that hes there for me if i ever need him. he keeps saying 'we' all the time too. he keeps messaging me througout the day with random things- just like he would normally do. why is he doing this?

the other day a guy messaged me on facebook (so anyone could read it) saying he thought i was pretty, implying he was interested in me. now my ex bf has started contacting me more often.

do you think he wants me back?

Quite possibly, but like you said, you haven't even got a decent foundation for a friendship, much less a relationship.

Just stay the way you are, don't try to change. If he can't accept you for what you are resentment will build up on both sides.

It sounds like all he wants you for is a spot of nookie and a trophy to show off to his mates.
