These people should not be telling you if you should or should'nt use a condom. There are many sexually transmitted diseases out there now at days and its risky when you have oral sex or better yet any sex at all. Sex is beautiful but when you do it with the one you know you really love and whom you really trust. So go with your gut feeling, and do what you feel is right.

Personally I dont like the taste of the condom but you get used to the sucking actions and then go for it without protection. Tastes a little salty but its nice.

 This is an interesting point and changes depending on who you are and how feel about it.
Condoms are used for 2 main purposes. To prevent pregnancy and to stop the transfer of sexually transmitted infections/dieseases.
With a blowjob, he will likely ejacualte/cum in your mouth. The sperm entering you body this way won't get you pregnant. So a condom isn't need here but you should also consider the possibility of picking up an infection or diesease.
There is a small theoretical risk of picking up HIV/AIDS from oral sex or others (if you have an infected partner). A condom will stop the pre-ejacualte (pre-cum) a tiny amount of clear white fluid entering your body - this will usually contain most of the harmful stuff. (The pre-cum is before the cum).
Your boyfriend should hopefully be healthy so this should not be a factor. There are two other points you might to consider.
Without usuing a condom, the taste of sperm can be unpleasant - but that varies from person to person. Also, with a condom, the taste of the condom is generally not pleasent. If you do decide to use one for a blowjob aim for a flavoured of neutral one.
Ultimately, if you still feel uncomfortable - you could speak to your boyfriend about it. A loving and understanding boyfriend would be ok with it and be ok to have it put off.
