A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Well, I'm really desperate right now and I could really use your help, so thanks to everyone who will take time to read and answer me.

I've been best friends with this really handsome hot guy for two years now. In time, I started falling for him, the problem is I don't know if he feels the same though his acts prove he does, not just to me, but to everyone else who knows us. I'm really sick of this situation cause we're both very popular and wanted, and people won't stop starting rumors about us.

We get along very well, we have so much fun together, we have a lot in common and at the same time, we're a little different, and what I love about us is that we kind of open up to each other about everything, so we shared so many things that we didn't have in common, I'm trying to make it short, so we're perfect for each other, whether it's about our hobbies, ideas, thoughts, dreams and looks.

He's always flirty with me and he does really sweet things. He wrote me a poem for my birthday, like a really really cute one, and always says to me " You're so beautiful, you're unique, you're special to me and all I want is just to have by my side forever ..." He doesn't like it when other boys are being flirty with me, he told me "You're mine" many times, he calls me sweetheart, he always stares at me in this really special way, it just kills me cause my heart starts beating fast and I blush a looot, he told me once " I love you and I want you" but he never said that he wanted me to be his girlfriend, we already act like a couple, we're not doing it on purpose, it just comes naturally, when we're together, it's like we forget about other people around us, we talk until 5 am and whenever I'm upset he tries his best to make me feel better, he always listens to me and encourages me, he's just always there for me you know, just like I am for him. It's kind of obvious that I get jealous when all these girls flirt with him, and it's the same for him. He gave me a rose one, he plays with my hair sometimes, he told me that he liked laying his head on my shoulder and he did it many times, he even held my hand a few times and when he does that, he gets quiet and just keeps staring at me, sometimes when we're face to face and talking, he comes closer to me, like really close, and looks me right in the eyes, he always tells me that I have beautiful eyes by the way.

I really really love him more than anything and I'm not really good at this whole love and relationships thing cause I've never dated before so could you please tell me what these actions mean, the whole holding my hand and playing with my hair and laying his head on my shoulder thing ? And do you think he has feelings for me too ?

N91 agony auntlol I've never had a girlfriend before and I've made the move handfuls of times and been rejected , it happens.

I wouldn't make this guy wait too long. What if he's thinking 'Hmmm I couldn't make it any clearer to this girl that I like her, I mean I've mentioned us living together and she doesn't say anything back' and he get the image that you're not interested and he finds someone that is?

@Pinkhawk You're definitely right about the fact that it would kill me if he had a girlfriend and came to me to talk about her :'(

@Abella We already talked about our future plans and we have the same goals and dreams in life, he got into the college I wanna get into, I'm trying my best and studing hard to get there next fall. And just so you know, he always says things like you have to hurry up I need you here, can't wait for us to be together, and sometimes he says things and makes it look like he's kidding, just cause he's scared of my reaction I think, but I know deep down he means them, like once, he told me "Just come here we'll live together and when I go to (The country he's planning to live in for a few years) I'll take you with me, and once when we were talking about our future plans, he said "I'll work hard to be successful, I'll start businesses, and then I'll travel around the world wit you, I'll take you with me ... "

I don't know, but he always mentions me when he's talking about his future plans.

I know you guys think I'm stupid to wait all this time, but I've never dated any guy before, I have no experience, how can you expect me to be the one who makes the official move the first time I fall in love ? I hope you guys understand the way I feel, I'm too shy, and I think I'm just gonna wait a little more cause I think he doesn't wanna rush me and is planning to wait for me to get to college to make an official move and tell me how he feels.

Thanks for your answers, I really really appreciate it and you guys really helped me overcome my shyness a bit when it comes to my confusing reactions, cause whenever he flirts with me I just blush and look down :p

Thanks again xxx

Abella agony auntI think both of you have a really good strong friendship going AND you both have developed a really obvious CRUSH on each other. But you are both so similar and so in sync that neither of you have made a move to become a couple.

And as N91 said it's time you both had a talk.

Though be prepared for any possibility that he may have decided to not get

officiously serious with a girl until some other goal he has set himself.

So maybe start off with a discussion on your respective goals for the next ten years. Career and personal goals

serious

janniepeg agony auntHe is serious about you. Whether you want to have that talk, or wait till he is ready, is up to you. I think you can even suggest what you like to do on valentine's day.

N91 agony auntI have a crazy idea here, but please, bare with me on this one! It's called, talking!

It's pretty simple, you say 'Hey x, we've known each other for a long time now and Ive began to develop feelings for you and Id like to take our relationship to being more than friends'

And then he replies and you have your answer.

It seems from how you described that he shares your feelings, but the only way that you can find out for sure is by asking him.

Good luck.

Pinkhawk agony auntHe is definitely into you and you need to make your love for him happen by telling him how you feel and what you want. He sounds like he is using you as a BF and yes it's good to be there for him, even let him lay on your shoulder, but what If you wait too long to tell him how you feel and he has a girl friend and still comes to you an talks about her, won't that kill you inside? He had some feelings and I think you need to tell hi ASAP how much he means and you want to be his girl friend...that is if you want to. I'd hate to see you be hurt in the end. If he says he wants to stay friends, then that's up to you on what to do. You just have to express your feelings and show him what you want. Good luck :)
