Does he really love me or am I just wasting my time with him?

Please guys help me,am in a relationship for o ne year and 3 months am 24 and he is 28.the time we started we were in the same town and later i move to another town with work and i go evry weekend for classes to his town.may problem with this guy is he dont really initiate time to spent with me over weekends when i go for classes he is also astudent at the same universty, he claims to love me but are times i doubt it because of his behaviour,there was a time when we had a bad argument about his ex,and he cried for two days blaming himself for what happende claiming that what he had with her is over,becaz the unv closed in nov, i expetd atlest the two of us to spend that weekend togather, i tried to initiat it but i think it didn com to his mind, fine, the day i left i called him to come to me at the bus station but he was in church he could,nt,two nights before that we went to see his friend, but we found alot of guys there and he asked me not to enter inside(where the guys are) cause they will tease in their language he speak protugese at home so as his friends, but me not even a word him thats what he said,, am taller than him, but most of his friends i met envy him for having me, what i dont understand is why is he not comfortable with me infront of some of his friends, does he really love me or am i just wasting my time with him.any opnion is welcom
