He was singing happy birthday in a really soft romantic voice. Then he said he would be sending me a small package in the mail for my gift (he lives out of town). None of my other male friends have ever done that for me. Do you think he sounds like he likes me as more than a friend?

Do you want to take the friendship to the next level i.e. bf/gf??????
If you do then why not call him or invite him round for dinner go for a drink, or whatever you would feel confortable with.
Let him know that his gesture was really sweet and next time you see him give him a hug and peck on the cheek to say thank-you. If his heart is racing when you do this then thats a sure sign as far as Im concerned that he is wanting to progress the relationship! If he looks into your eyes and it makes your heart skip a beat/race, wants to make a hug last longer than intirely neccessary, etc etc then I would say yes you both want to be wth each other.
Just ask it's the only way to truely know for sure if he wants more.

 Buzzie,it really depends, sometimes guys are really really nice and thats just because they are being really really nice. Its impossible for me to whether he likes you beyond friendship, but I guess time will tell. It was a very lovely gesture, I agree so perhaps he is thinking there could be more on the cards by way of being boyf and girlf. What you need to do is drop obviious hints with a tist e.g. "Oh, anyone would think you fancied me!!" by doing that, you are stating what you would like to find out, but also, you are saying it in way as if you dont believe it, i.e you are just joking. It has worked for me!!!
