This is an answer I had given to a previous question of similar nature.
I think a lot of girl's first times are bad because their boyfriends are in a hurry or get too excited or simply don't know what to do. From what I do know, the first time of sex can be somewhat painful BUT can also be minimized if performed correctly. If you are serious about overcoming this fear you should talk to your boyfriend about it and agree with a process that will be gentle for you. For example, a suitable amount of foreplay and extra lubrication oils, good music etc. I think you can do some research on the internet by some simple google searches to find more info, but hopefully other aunts will post their thoughts.
The thing is that after the first time, it gets way easier.
Do not put so much pressure on yourself or let the fear of the first time take control. Your first time will be with your husband so just be sure to cherish the memory. Replace fear with comfort, love and happiness and share it with your soon to be husband. Good luck

yes i agree with the above comment. however another reason why sex hurts for the first time because you have a thin layer of skin that covers the vagina on the inside, that has a small hole in it to alow period blood through. when that breaks only during sex it hurts and the vagina bleeds a little. but it doesn't hurt so much. secondly, it also hurts because the vagina isn't used to having a penis up there, which could be a little unconfortable untill the body gets used to it. this isn't much but i hope it helps :P

It doesn't have to at all. The reason it hurts is if you aren't turned on enough. When you are not turned on your vagina is dry and tight and if you are, it expands and lubricates. Make sure you have enough foreplay, as in get close to orgasm before you try. You can prepare by masturbating to find out what turns you on, start externally.

Your vagina shouldn't hurt and burn from a simple finger being inserted. Have you seen a doctor about this problem?
