Without knowing you or your circumstances and surroundings I just couldn't say. I disagree with the emphatic no below for a couple of reasons......you just do not know! There is somebody out there for everybody, whether at your school or later on in a bar or at your place of work. So dont panic, go with the flow and enjoy finding them.

A male reader, Yos Netherlands +, writes (16 May 2006):

Yos agony auntThe answer is 'no'. There may just be no one in a school that fancies a particular person. However for most people, there will be others who do fancy them. So its rare.

Also, there's a lot more to starting relationships than just fancying someone. There are probably lots of boys at your school that wouldn't notice you straight away, but could grow to really like you and eventually fancy you if they got to know you.

The best way to proceed is to be friendly and talk to lots of people. Just be yourself and let people get to know you as you are normally. Don't worry about flirting, kissing or sex or whatever. Just focus on the friendships. That gives the most people the chance to meet you and maybe, if you (and they) are lucky, fancy you.

The trick is really simple to describe, but very difficult to do: just be yourself and be confident that you are nice as you are. If you do this, then the boys who end up fancying you will like the 'real' you, and not the person you feel you need to appear to be.

A female reader, bonym United Kingdom +, writes (15 May 2006):

bonym agony auntMy dear its really hard to say, but considering how many people there are in the entire Universe let alone your school, I am sure there is at least someone who "fancies" you. Itis quite common that there will be someone out there who takes a liking to you but never really gets around to telling you. I do believe there is someone out there for everyone, you have just got to find them. I hope I have answered your question, All the best. xXx
