I have been conversing with someone in Nigeria he claims it costs about 1000.00 usd to live there per month. That sounds completely ridiculous. His rent is paid yearly. So he says it's for cable, data, power, and food for him and his friend who stays with him. The things I have googled say 1000.00 per month one can live like a king in Nigeria. To me it seems like there are drug issues or perhaps paying for women there, I'm not sure. It's a developing country and minimum wage is not much there. No he has not asked me for money but it sure seems like he is hinting. No I will not give him anything I know about all the scams down there. He tells me Nigeria is expensive how can that be?

It's a scam. Block everything and anything to do with him. Sorry for being so abrupt. Watch some YouTube view about scams.

I feel hes telling you this amount to slowly lure you in so you'll eventually send him $$

Oh, he is setting you up. Buttering you up.
$1,000 is kind of cheap. But depending on where in Nigeria he lives it might be less, it might be more.
If you think he is a romantic option for you, I think you are .... looking in the wrong place for a Mr. Right.
Also, what does it matter to you what the cost of living is there? Unless you plan to move there?
